In need of a new look? Find out more about the hottest hair colour trends emerging in salons across the country.
Summer has ended and the world’s media has already turned its attention
to the red carpets and runways to dictate the looks of 2014.
Hair colour trends change quickly and De Lorenzo stylists across
Australia are gauging the hottest new looks for the year ahead.
Here are the hottest colour trends as outlined by De Lorenzo Education Manager and colour expert, Megan Yabsley:
1. Subtle Brights
Only recently has having brightly coloured hair transcended from
something reserved for punks to something the a-list lust for. Nicole
Richie has dyed her hair bright purple, Kelly Osbourne is a colour
veteran and even Helen Mirren has embraced a pink hue. We’ve seen so
many clients asking for fun, bright colours in the past few months as
well as apricot lavender hues - as seen above.
2. Red Hot
Red hair is back with a vengeance. Whether it’s copper, golden or
nutmeg – red hues are having a moment. Rather than garish tones, we’re
seeing lots of subtle red tones brought in through a range of highlights
and tints across the spectrum of colours. Brown hair with just a hint
of red tone is amazing, as is strawberry blonde – accentuate what you’ve
got and work with your skin tone to find the right red.
3. Ice White
Icy blonde is a classic look that resurges in popularity every few
seasons. The dramatic look is very versatile but suits cool,
yellow-toned complexions best. Classically cool, platinum blondes never
go out of style – just be sure to keep on top of the upkeep and use Novafusion Silver Shampoo to banish brassy tones.
4. Brown Blonde
It’s really tricky to find the perfect balance between brown and blonde
but when you achieve the look, it can be really fabulous. Gisele has
mastered the look, so has Jennifer Aniston. This look can work on those
with both dark and light hair with little maintenance needed and we’re
seeing lots of clients transitioning from balayage opting for this
look.
