Best Hairstyles for Your Hair

Curly haired girls envy the frizz-free nature of the super-sleek; those with pin-straight locks would die for a wave or two.

The great news is that you can always play pretend for a day. Here are some tricks to turn curly hair straight and straight hair wavy.
1. Straight, limp locks may not hold a tight curl, but it can keep a really sexy bedhead wave. Start by applying mousse to damp hair and scrunching. Let your hair air-dry. Once dry, take a large-barrel curling iron and twist random sections around the face. Spritz with a bit of spray gel for hold, shake your head to loosen the curl and you’re out the door.
2. Thick, curly hair requires a bit of work to go straight, but it can be done. Prep damp hair with a heat-protector product that also tames frizz. Use a large, round brush and your blow-dryer and divide your hair into equal sections. Work through each section until thoroughly dry. (The brush will help reduce frizz). Once your hair is dry, use a flatiron to go over your entire head, working in small, divided sections. Smooth a shine serum in the palm of your hands and run it over the top layer of hair.
3. Easy updo. No one can tell your hair is thick if you wear it up. Try this: Apply volumising mousse to damp hair and blow-dry, flipping your head over for extra lift at the root. Tease several sections around the crown and toward the front of the hairline -- this creates texture that always looks lush and thick. Once you are done teasing, play with ballerina topknots, braids and funky twists, since all that texture in the hair will beef up their size. My personal favourite: Heidi braids at the front of the hairline that twist into a bun at the back.
