Makeup Tips: From Desk To Dance Floor

We’ve all complained about having to attend a party straight after work and not having enough time to fix your makeup.

The result? You’ve ended up looking not quite your best. We enlisted Veet beauty producer, Chloe Morello, to share with us her 5 top tips on how to go from desk to dance floor in a matter of minutes!

 

1) Bronzer

This product makes a world of difference and is an instant ‘glam-er’ if you apply it in the correct places. Try sweeping it below your cheek bones and up toward your ear. It will create a dramatic sculpted face effect that looks amazing during the night time and gives a real cat walk look with cheek bones to die for - just make sure the bronzer doesn't have shimmer in it!

 

2) A shimmery eyeshadow

When applied to the lids it adds an instant party effect. You could go for a neutral shade such as a shimmery taupe, which is suitable for a range of occasions but catches the light and adds a twinkle to the eye. Alternatively you could amp it up with a metallic silver for a party. The best thing is you can apply it with your fingers in literally seconds! Press the shadow to the lid and up to the socket with your index finger, and blend with your ring finger.

 

3) A new lipstick

This one might seem obvious, but it changes the entire feel and look of your makeup. Red, hot pink and orange shades are always hot and extremely eye-catching.

 

4) False lashes

Easily the quickest and most effective way to enhance your look without adding product to your skin. With a bit of practice they can take just a minute to apply and immediately open up the eyes and create a much sexier and flirtier look! There are lots of natural options available if you're taking the look from work to a dinner date, but if you're daring enough and the occasion calls for it, you can go for some dramatic thick falsies, or even a rhinestone studded pair!

 

5) Dry Shampoo

This is the best product for an ultimate pick-me-up for your hair that might be looking a little dull or has lost its volume over the course of the day. In addition, because the powder tends to lighten hair a bit, it can even double up for blondes who might want to cover up any re-growth! I recommend carrying a mini one around in your bag so you can get instant life back into your look whenever you need it!
