Our skin begins losing its
elasticity and moisture as we age. Though there are expensive options
like Botox, fillers, etc to diminish these signs of ageing, you can also
try home remedies like fruits to get glowing skin. Grapes in particular can help combat skin problems like acne, wrinkles, etc. Dr Navin Taneja, Director of the National Skin Centre, shares the
benefits of the fruit for your skin and also some DIY home-made packs
using grapes.
Mash a few grapes and apply it as a facial mask. This helps in peeling off the dead skin cells and giving you a glowing complexion. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes before washing it off.
People who have oily skin should mash black grapes with some oil absorbent like multani mitti (Fuller’s earth). To make it in paste form, mix it well with drops of rose water in it. Let it stay for 15 minutes on your face and then rinse it off.
People who have dry skin can make a paste of mashed black grapes, avocado pulp mixed with two teaspoons of honey and rose water. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. If you cannot find avocado, use an overripe banana instead.
- Grapes help reduce acne so can be used by people who have pimple-prone skin.
- The fruit’s seeds help strengthen blood vessels and enhances skin’s elasticity. This keeps your face looking youthful.
- Grape seed oil is rich in moisturising content and also provides vitamin C and E to the skin. This prevents dryness.
